As an interior designer, I know that it can be tempting to want to fully renovate your home every time you feel the itch for a change. However, not only is a full renovation time consuming and often expensive, it can also be overwhelming. That’s why I’m here today to share with you some easy and budget friendly ways to update your home without breaking the bank.
1. Paint Your Walls
A fresh coat of paint is one of the easiest ways to update your home. Choose a new color that complements your existing decor or even add a pop of color for an accent wall if you are feeling adventurous.

2. Repurpose Old Furniture
Instead of buying new furniture, consider repurposing the pieces you already have. Change the fabric or color , replace hardware, or just by moving your furniture around can give your room a new look.

3. Change Your Switches And Outlets
If you are a beginner DIYer this might sound little complicated to handle yourself, but we encourage you to get familiar with the process and do your research before you start. Remember to always turn your electrical box off and go for it! Even when your budget doesn’t allow you to do bigger changes this small change of new switches and outlets will bring a big impact on the appearance of your home.

4. Replace Light Fixtures
Lighting has a big impact on the overall mood and atmosphere of your home. Replace old light fixture with modern, energy efficient options or add new lamps for a quick and easy update.

5. Hang Your Curtains Correctly
At this point I feel like a broken record, but really, the way you hang your curtains is so important. Hanging your curtain as high as you can will bring your eyes up from the floor and will create an illusion of higher ceiling (and who doesn’t wan’t higher ceilings). Let the fabric slightly touch the floor for a more high-end look and extend the curtain rod pass the window.

With these simple updates, your home will feel fresh and new without breaking the bank. So, go ahead and give your home a little love and attention today!
Hope you found these tips helpful.
Happy updating!
